Debbie and I have been invited to run a 45 minute workshop and presentation in an early bird session (08.30am – 09.15am) as part of the main conference programme on Wednesday 2nd November. More details on the workshop theme and content to follow.
We are delighted to be invited to present at this year’s Eden Alternative Conference,’Changing the Culture of Care’ in Birmingham on the 7th September.
Debbie has been lined up to present a summary of our findings at the forthcoming Tendercare Nurseries event on 2nd September. It’s a chance for the horticultural and design industries to come together and network and share information about new developments and products. Debbie will highlight the importance of generationally-familiar planting choices for residents in care settings, and particulrlay those living with dementia.
We will be presenting our findings in a parallel session at the Dementia Care Congress this year, to be held in Telford between 3rd and 5th November. We will be alongside representatives from the University of Stirling and the Order of St. John Care Trust. This will be an important opportunity for us to showcase the Book and the Map too. Donations are still coming in after our crowdfunding campaign closed on the 15th June. We raised GBP4,200.00 to help take our book publishing aim ever closer. This has helped us to pay for the first edit of the book, the graphic design work to create the page layouts and our amends to the Map diagnostic tool following its launch and road testing earlier in the year. If you know of monies still heading our way, please ask the donors to get in touch and we will let them have our fundraising account information. To all of you who have contributed and supported us so generously, a heartfelt thank you from us both.
